The Luxembourg-based company will migrate the day-to-day operations and services of the Czech bank to an online platform developed by Swiss IT provider Temenos.

Komerční Banka (“KB”), a universal bank from the French banking group Société Générale International Financial Group, which is based in the Czech Republic, announced a gradual migration of its retail, corporate, and investment banking operations, including its specialized financial services to a software platform from Temenos.

Temenos is a Swiss IT company specialized in banking software solutions.

Syncordis will deliver and implement the system. The Luxembourg-based company provides business and IT consultancy on Temenos banking software suites to banks and financial institutions.

“The cooperation with Syncordis and Temenos is for us a strategic investment in our future. It is a crucial milestone in Komerční Banka’s history,” explained Jan Juchelka, Komerční Banka’s Chairman and CEO. “This grounds our position as leaders of digitalization in the Czech banking market.

Opportunities in Eastern Europe

The new long-term partnership includes the supply and implementation of the Temenos banking software. The move will further help the bank and its subsidiaries to simplify the range of their products, while enhancing their security and sustainable business model.

It is also a new opportunity for Syncordis to enter the Eastern-European market.

“Komerční Banka will be able to leverage the new possibilities of digital banking to provide its customers with new and enhanced experiences based on the foundations of a cutting-edge technological environment,” added Pierre Servais, Syncordis’s Chief Business Officer (Europe, Middle East and Africa).

Launched in Luxembourg in 2004, Syncordis is a Temenos Banking Software Services company. Its projects range from implementations, integrations, testing, migrations, release upgrades, evolution, and development to requirements engineering, project management, solution design, training, and end-to-end program transformation.
