With its phygital HR solution, Luxembourg-based startup Talenteed is targeting the international recruitment market in Luxembourg and intends to develop its activity in West Africa, a talent pool that can meet the needs and requirements of Luxembourg employers, explain its two founders.

Created in June 2021, solution Talenteed has recently launched its phygital solution in Luxembourg, North America, Africa and Asia.

The company’s mission is to support small and large companies in their search for the best profiles and more broadly in their digital transformation project. Although open to all clients, it mainly serves those active in IT and finance, both companies and consulting firms.

Guy Christian Munsadi (Founder & Managing Partner) and Kérian Wilton (Business & Sales Director), talk about the origin and ambitions of their entrepreneurial project, which they describe as a “Global HR Digital” solution.

How did the idea of a phygital recruitment solution come about?

G.C.M. The pandemic, the entry of teleworking in the customs and organization of companies, the search for a better work-life balance and the shortage of manpower have changed the situation on the labor market.

In addition, Luxembourg has adopted a strategy of diversification of its economy, which creates a labor market in perpetual change and gives it a strong dynamic. Although constantly increasing, cross-border employment no longer provides enough talent to satisfy this market demand.

In order to overcome these difficulties in finding staff that meet their needs, HR must therefore change their recruitment methods and channels. They are faced with offers that do not find applicants, while candidates expect recruiters and HR to meet their expectations and needs. To do this, they must be more flexible and responsive.

Faced with these challenges, Solution Talenteed wants to provide a solution that relieves all stakeholders. During our respective careers as HR consultants, we have also been confronted with the problem of finding the right candidates to meet our clients’ expectations.

What is your business model?

K.W. We were inspired by brand strategies that combine a physical (retail) and online (digital) presence. Then we made this phygital fusion with an online job board and physical recruitment agencies (sourcing centers).

Our business model is based on our job board, which quickly puts forward job advertisements and the needs of companies in terms of personnel. These ads are directly posted on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. The platform then puts recruiters and candidates in contact.

Each client has a personalized space to manage their offers and applications.

The physical side is our sourcing center, a network of correspondents in Canada, India, Madagascar and Mauritania, who search for candidates on our behalf, then meet them during a job interview, before sending us their file.

On the digital side, what technologies does your recruitment platform rely on?

K.W. We use natural language processing and machine learning. The idea is to use a web service that allows natural referencing via metadata in search engines and social networks, and also to use artificial intelligence to perform a number of sorting tasks on applications. This combination of machine learning and natural language processing allows for the automatic extraction of keywords

G.K.M. If four weeks after the publication of the employer’s offer with ADEM and on our platform, the company has not found any profiles corresponding to its needs, the law allows it to hire non-EU citizens. We then turn to our international sourcing centers to find candidates.

Once the candidate has been recruited via one of our partners in Africa, North America or Asia, we prepare all the necessary formalities for his relocation to Luxembourg.

How does your offer differ from other recruitment platforms?

K.W. Our difference is not just in the approach to recruitment, it is also in the investment for the company. We address three parameters of recruitment: candidates, time and cost. Thanks to our solution, recruitment is on average 50% faster and, above all, less expensive.

The other added value of our offer, compared to others, is to go and find qualified and diverse candidates outside the EU, with a more reactive and quicker solution, and for a lower cost.

These sourcing centers are firms that we know well and whose founders are trusted professionals with whom we have worked in the past.

Therefore, within three weeks after the publication of an ad, we are able to present a candidate to our client. And after two recruitments with us, our client has already halved his recruitment costs.

What are your ambitions after this launch?

G.C.M. Our ambition is to conquer the international recruitment market in Luxembourg, by becoming the reference platform for international recruitment. During the second quarter of 2023, we intend to develop our activity in West Africa, through the launch of a structure in Senegal and Ivory Coast. These two countries have a pool of candidates who can meet the needs and requirements of the Luxembourg market and job offers that are likely to correspond to European candidates.
