Telindus Customers Will Be Able To Benefit From 5G

Telindus announces its 5G launch for business customers on October 23rd, 2020, as well as the availability of its new iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, devices on which this 5G network is already certified.

“Following a number of different phases, we are pleased to announce the launch of our 5G. A new chapter will begin on October 23rd and we will build this new equation, in which 5G will be an innovation factor with our customers. This new technology enhances the convergence between telecommunications and information technology. Our role, beyond mobile phone services, consists of supporting companies and institutions with accessing new growth opportunities. We collaborate with them to explore new uses beneficial to all”, explains Christian Haux, Chief Enterprise Market Officer at Telindus. Let’s ask him a few more questions on how strategic 5G is.

You announced the availability of 5G for your customers, what are their needs and expectations?

5G is highly anticipated by our customers as a factor of innovation.

The added values of 5G are essential for many companies, particularly in the fields of industry, artificial intelligence, medicine, transport, audiovisual media or for the development of smart-cities.

The needs of our customers are as diverse as their business strategies, but 5G will bring them the increased throughput, very low latency, connection density and network slicing needed to support and transform their business and bring them into a new era.

Telindus, as a partner in digital innovation, remains at their side to accompany them in this adventure.

What were the major steps for Telindus to achieve this launch?

– April 26, 2019: Realization of the first 5G connections in Luxembourg. First Luxembourg operator to have connected 5G on its mobile network. The 5G core network is now operational for future deployments.

– July 22, 2020 : Obtaining the 700 MHz and 3600 MHz frequencies. This result marks an essential step in the launch of the 5G network.

– October 23, 2020 : Launch of the 5G

What are the next steps for you about 5G?

The deployment of 5G throughout Luxembourg. Coverage will be provided initially in Luxembourg City and from the beginning of 2021 starting from the largest cities in the south of the country. The rest of the country will be covered progressively, giving priority to densely populated areas.
