Capitalizing on a shared history between Wisconsin and Luxembourg, gener8tor, a top ranked US accelerator and venture fund, is announcing its imminent arrival in Luxembourg.
The accelerator will select five leading early-stage startups across various industries to participate in their three-month program. Starting in 2022, the program is an excellent choice for startups wanting to scale their business.
When Luxembourgish citizens emigrated to Wisconsin in the 19th century, no one would have guessed that two centuries later their decision would enable a new wave of cooperation between the Luxembourgish and American tech ecosystems. Yet here we are today, announcing the launch of leading US accelerator gener8tor in Luxembourg.
“We are proud to see one of the top accelerators in the United States join Luxembourg’s thriving innovation and entrepreneurship community,” says Honorary Consul and key collaborator Mike Ansay.
As part of their European expansion plans, gener8tor have chosen Luxembourg’s ecosystem as a launching platform.
“The gener8tor Luxembourg accelerator reflects the next step in our commitment to join with local partners in supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs and community leaders” says Joe Kirgues, Co-Founder at gener8tor.
A summer collaboration between the Ministry of the Economy and gener8tor showed both parties the potential networking synergies. Furthermore, having a US accelerator establish themselves in Luxembourg is another milestone for the Ministry of the Economy which is continuously striving to cement Luxembourg’s position in the startup world.
“We are proud to see one of the top accelerators in the United States join Luxembourg’s thriving innovation and entrepreneurship community.”
Systemic Change Startups
While the applications are open to a wide range of sectors, gener8tor Luxembourg is especially interested in startups that are driving systemic change at the corporate, government, and community level, as well as sustainability-oriented companies.
Only five startups will be selected for this hybrid accelerator. With 9 years of experience in the US and having run 47 accelerator programs in 28 American cities, as well as having raised more than $700 million in follow-on financing, this will no doubt be the start of an exciting new journey for the selected participants.
