Governance.com has joined the Silicon Luxembourg Founders Club. Co-founder & CEO Bert Boerman tells us more about the company.

A few words about you?

Hi, I’m Bert Boerman, an entrepreneurial optimist determined to reinvent digital governance.

Prior to taking the leap into entrepreneurship, I worked for 15 years in banking. My most recent banking responsibilities included compliance, such as AML/KYC Client Onboarding. The increasing regulatory burden in this area made it increasingly challenging and stressful to efficiently keep on top of the regulatory requirements and related business processes, so I asked my brother Rob to develop a FinTech solution to help. This solution later formed part of the groundwork for founding Governance.com – our FinTech company, today offering automated business processes for the asset management industry.

What are the main pillars of your company?

We’re unified by a shared objective to “make change happen”. We’re excited and driven by our ability to develop awesome solutions to help clients automate their business processes. We want clients to gain control of their business processes; to gain valuable time and money back from managing otherwise-onerous spreadsheets and fragmented processes and work flows.

Why did you want to join the Founders Club?

I’m excited to be a part of the Founders Club; a chance to meet and engage with leaders and decision-makers across Luxembourg’s tech and digital ecosystem.

I am a strong believer in the concept, “1+1=3”. No matter how great our solution is, no solution can do it all. The better we get to know one another, and work together, the more effective we can make this ecosystem and, ultimately, the more enjoyable.

What are the predictions of your industry?

We’re hopeful our industry will continue to gain momentum. An increasing number of market participants in the asset management industry are investing in ways to optimise their use of technology.

Our solutions play into the “hyperautomation” approach coined by research firm Gartner, Inc. – an approach that enables organizations to rapidly identify, vet and automate as many processes as possible using technology.

Gartner, Inc predicts that the worldwide market for technology that enables hyperautomation will reach $596.6 billion in 2022, up from $532.4 billion in 2021.
