Luxembourg-based Exobiosphere has secured a $1 million investment on Meet the Drapers, a major milestone for space-enabled drug discovery and biotech innovation.
Exobiosphere, a Luxembourg space biotechnology company, won Meet the Drapers, the globally broadcast venture capital show hosted by Tim Draper, after three rounds against thousands of applicants.
“This investment is a tremendous validation of what we’re building.”
Kyle Acierno, CEO of Exobiosphere
Its Orbital High-Throughput Screening (OHTS) platform enables automated compound screening and disease modelling in microgravity, where cells grow in more natural 3D structures and drug responses improve in predictive value. The platform supports 2,000+ experiments per mission, scaling orbital research for pharma partners.
Tim Draper commented “They have an advantage in understanding cancer in space”. Rob Solomon First Judge highlighted “The improvement and 3D cell transition open new research opportunities”. Adam Draper Second Judge stated “Space pharma is real but limited and needs data to scale digitisation”.
“This investment is a tremendous validation of what we’re building,” commented Kyle Acierno, CEO of Exobiosphere. Microgravity, the company notes, can accelerate disease progression, offering faster insights into neurodegeneration and drug response.
With new contracts, accelerator support, and upcoming commercial station deployments, Exobiosphere is positioning itself at the forefront of space-based life sciences.
