Startup MyScienceWork Announces New Developments

MyScienceWork, a startup launched in Luxembourg in 2012 and now developing its activities in Silicon Valley, just announced some major developments and partnerships within the Luxembourgish ecosystem.

A partnership with Jonk Fuerscher Lëtzebuerg

MyScienceWork just signed a partnership with Jonk Fuerscher Lëtzebuerg (FJSL), a Foundation dedicated to the promotion of science, research, technology and innovation among young scientists. The aim is to set up the Polaris platform – a turnkey solution for the visibility and promotion of research – to enable the creation of a Jonk Fuerscher Alumni network. This network will provide a central place where young scientists from around the world can feature their work. “We are really proud to be able to help Jonk Fuerscher Lëtzebuerg. Polaris will provide a unique platform to centralise all the publications and essays written by researchers. It will enhance the general attractiveness and influence of the Foundation and help in the promotion of the ‘Young Scientists Contests’”, explains CEO Virginie Simon, Ph.D.

A new member of the national BioHealth Cluster

MyScienceWork has also recently joined the national BioHealth Cluster, led by Luxinnovation, which includes public research centers, laboratories, hospitals, and other organizations.

“Based on our latest developments and our growing activities, we are constantly looking for new talents to join the team. We have recently hired a senior IT developer and a R&D Director for the Luxembourg office. We are now a team of 15 people located in Luxembourg, Paris and Silicon Valley. It is important for us to have these 3 major spots from which we can reach some major influencers and players”, concludes Virginie.

New website, new design, new functionalities

To augment this comprehensive offering of resources, MyScienceWork has completely revamped their website with a new design and improved functionalities. Its enhanced search-engine, brand-new popular science outlet called OmniScience and new design of Polaris will make research even more accessible.

A success-story made in Luxembourg

MyScienceWork was originally chosen in 2013 by the Luxembourg government to take part in their “Young Innovative Business” program, which contributed significantly to the company’s early development and growth. The startup is also supported financially by Luxembourgish shareholders and an investment fund. This key support and several decisive moments have allowed MyScienceWork to test new features, always enhancing and improving the platform.

About MyScienceWork

Launched in Luxembourg in 2012 by two French entrepreneurs, MyScienceWork has offices today in Paris, Luxembourg, and San Francisco. It was distinguished by the Luxembourg government as a Jeune Entreprise Innovante and selected to integrate Silicon Valley in 2014. The company’s core objective is to increase dissemination and access to research related information. This is achieved with a suite of resources for researchers, institutions, foundations and publishers, including Polaris institutional platforms, research global network, and scientific communication services. Today, MyScienceWork offers a library of over 30 million research documents and an international community of more than half a million members. Within this ecosystem, the Polaris platforms for institutions enable research groups to offer a clear, complete picture of their research, increasing their visibility and the impact of their science.
