Two innovative Luxembourg technology firms, Shipsta and Tomorrow Street-Vodafone, were recognised in this year’s World Procurement Awards in association with Ivalua.

Clinching the procurement technology provider award in this 2022 edition of the World Procurement Awards, Shipsta was described by judges as “highly relevant with the current supply chain challenges.”

The logtech, which was established in 2015 as Clear Logistics, aims to be the booking.com of logistics, offering stakeholders air, sea and road freight rates and solutions within a few clicks.

The firm’s technology works to replace the use of Excel spreadsheets and other manual processes in logistics with digital systems, making the process of procuring logistics solutions more efficient and cost effective.

According to a recent interview with Silicon Luxembourg, Shipsta has around 100 major enterprise clients across 22 countries and boasts some 260 million datasets.

Judges said that Shipsta’s solutions “showcased great innovation and demonstrated how they are bringing digitalization to a historically manual industry and removing friction in an area so critical to all our supply chains.”

One judge declared: “It’s a game changer and highly relevant with the current supply chain challenges.”

“We are delighted to see our game-changing platform receiving widespread acclaim,” said David Waroquier, Shipsta CEO. “This reinforces our commitment to yield significant advances in digital adoption in the transportation sourcing and procurement sector, across multiple industries. This recognition is strengthening Shipsta’s innovation leadership in the market and is pivotal in the digitalisation of the transportation procurement segment.”

The supplier collaboration and innovation award was, meanwhile, given to the Tomorrow Street Supplier and Innovation Center, a collaboration with the Luxembourg Government that allows the telecommunications company to gain access to cutting edge innovations from scaleups that have the potential to become strategic suppliers.

Participants are housed within the Tomorrow Street offices in Kirchberg where they are provided support in growing their business and forging closer links with Vodafone.

According to Procurement Leaders, the procurement network and intelligence platform which organises the awards, the accelerator has onboarded and partnered with eight scaleup partners, delivering tens of millions of euros in deal value and supporting Vodafone’s digital transformation.
