IPIL: SME Fund 2024 – EU Grant Scheme Empowers Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises

Luxembourg’s Institut de la Propriété Intellectuelle (IPIL G.I.E.) and the Intellectual Property Office of the Ministry of Economy are delighted to announce the renewal of the Ideas Powered for Business SME Fund for the year 2024.

This EU grant scheme, provided by the European Commission and the European Union Intellectual Property Office, aims to assist European Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in financing the registration of intellectual property rights, including patents, trademarks, designs, and plant variety rights. The initiative is set to run from January 22 to December 6, 2024.

Building on the success of the SME Fund in 2021, 2022, and 2023, the initiative has been extended for the year 2024.

The SME Fund 2024 is supported in Luxembourg by the Intellectual Property Office of the Ministry of Economy, IPIL G.I.E., and the Benelux Office for Intellectual Property.

This year’s SME Fund offers funding for an even broader range of services which cover:

Trademarks and Designs:
Up to 75% of filing fees (up to €1,000).

Patents:
75% of fees for prior art searches provided by intellectual property offices.
Up to 75% of filing, search and examination, grant, and publication fees (up to €1,500).
New in 2024: 50% of patent applications drafting fees by IP professionals (up to €2,000).

Plant Variety Rights:
75% of online application filing fees for the registration of new plant varieties.
New in 2024: 75% of examination fees at CPVO (€1,500).

  • Submit your grant application.
  • Receive your grant award and IP vouchers.
  • Request and pay for IP-related activities.
  • Get reimbursement.
