Launch Of The “Humanitarian Innovation Accelerator” Call For Projects

Luxembourg and the World Food Programme join forces to find innovative solutions for the humanitarian sector.

The Humanitarian Innovation Accelerator (HIA) is a collaboration between the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and the World Food Programme to support and scale innovative solutions in the global humanitarian sector.

The HIA is open for national and international proposals until 1 March, 2023 and is looking for innovative entrepreneurs in areas such as AI, space, healthtech, supply chain, and data science. The most promising solutions will be presented at a pitching event in June 2023 in Luxembourg, and the winning projects will receive funding, mentoring and networking opportunities.

The launch of the HIA responds to the growing humanitarian needs worldwide, with 339 million people in need of assistance in 2023. The HIA aims to find innovative solutions to address these complex challenges and help strengthen the capacity of humanitarian actors.

The call for proposals is open to innovative entrepreneurs from around the world who can bring a positive and sustainable impact to the humanitarian aid sector, particularly in areas such as emergency management, access to services, data management, and communication. The HIA is looking for solutions that can help address the complex challenges in the humanitarian sector and make a real and lasting difference.
