NIUM To Pitch At VitaFoods Challenge

Bioinformatics and modelling startup NIUM has been selected as a finalist for the Vitafoods Europe Startup Innovation Challenge.

The spin-off of the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (University of Luxembourg) will be among a host of startups invited to pitch to nutraceutical players at Vitafoods Europe 2023, a trade event hosted in Geneva, Switzerlands, from 9-11 May. Winners will be announced on 9 May.

When NIUM was founded in 2019 it worked with food companies to test new ingredient combinations to calculate metabolic impact.

Since then it has developed its gut-on-a-chip device which emulates the gastrointestinal tract and allows Nium’s team to test the efficacy of food products. With this technology, it helps companies developing new types of health products screen their products’ impact and functional features.
