SaaS startup Videobot has secured €2 million in seed funding to transform online customer engagement using interactive videos.

The funding comes from prominent investors including Luxembourg’s Expon Capital Digital Tech Fund, along with Finland’s Superhero Capital and angel investors Urban Gillstrom from Sweden and Ari Korhonen from Finland.

Since its debut at Slush in 2022, the startup is rapidly capitalizing on the video content trend and interactive chatbots to reshape how businesses connect with customers.

Videobot‘s innovative fusion of chatbot and video technologies creates a novel service category, allowing businesses to provide on-demand product demonstrations and simplified explanations through short videos.

With a strong presence in Luxembourg, the startup has already garnered over 200 clients across 15 countries and diverse industries, including renowned gaming company Supercell.

One of Videobot’s co-founders, Anssi Kiviranta, notes, “80% of internet traffic today is video. Videobot represents a paradigm shift in online communication.” This funding will propel Videobot’s growth across Europe and the US, further establishing its video-based engagement approach.

“We believe that the future is fully video-based websites, not just widgets or plug-ins.”

With its Luxembourg investors and co-founder’s ties to the country, Videobot is well-positioned to lead the charge in reshaping online engagement dynamics.

Invited to the recent Silicon Luxembourg Summer Talks event, Matias Mäenpää, co-founder of Videobot, emphasizes, “The success of Videobot within such a short time is a testament to its transformative potential. We believe that the future is fully video-based websites, not just widgets or plug-ins. With internet connections becoming faster and more stable, any brand can build its customer acquisition with video material. Potential clients are fully engaged from the get-go, and they are guided through a personalized video experience based on their choices and needs. We’re thrilled to collaborate with visionary investors who share our commitment to shaping the future of online engagement.”

“Videobot is the first investment of our Digital Tech Fund III. We have known the founding team for a couple of years. The combination of their compelling vision, ability to execute, and previous successful exits made us super excited about supporting the firm. So we did!” says Lily Wang, Partner at Expon Capital.

Looking ahead, Videobot envisions a future where video-driven engagement becomes the norm across industries.

The startup’s ambitions include securing one thousand customers and an annual billing of three million euros by the end of 2024, with the objective of growing its team to 50 employees.
