Wasch has joined the Founders Club. The two co-founders, Sarah Weyssow and Nicolas Devaux, tell us more about the company.

Can you pitch your startup in a few words?

Wasch was borned in 2021 right here in Luxembourg ! Our mission is crystal clear : to bring eco-friendliness to your home with a green range of home care products. Say goodbye to harsh chemicals and hello to a more sustainable way of keeping your space clean. We provide 100% natural products in eco-conscious packaging.

Why did you decide to create this company?

We were driven to create our company by our deep-seated concerns about the significant pollution we are causing and its devastating impact on our environment. We reached a point where we felt that waiting for change was no longer an option, and the most effective way to make a difference was to take action. Having had a closer look at the detergent industry, we discovered that it is a major contribution to pollution, yet it is often overlooked by the environmental discussions at large. We strongly believe that the time has come to introduce alternative, more sustainable detergent products, paving the way for a cleaner future.

What are your product(s)/service(s) and your business model?

At Wasch, we have curated a product portfolio featuring 4 eco-friendly laundry detergents, each available in two practical formats : 1 liter and 10 liters. To make our products easily accessible to a wide audience, we employ a multi-channel approach.

We sell directly to customers through our online shop, ensuring convenient access for eco-conscious shoppers. Simultaneously, we collaborate with a diverse range of retailers, including marketplaces, local shops and supermarkets. Our products are now distributed in 48 shops throughout Luxembourg.

This approach expands our reach and allows even more people to embrace sustainable home care solutions.

“We are looking beyond borders and focusing on international expansion as we aim to introduce our products to a global audience.”

How is your offering different from your competitors and other market players?

Our competitive advantage stems from several key factors that set us apart in the market.

First and foremost, our laundry detergents are produced locally, here in Luxembourg with a deep sense of care and quality. This not only supports the local economy but also reduces our environmental footprint.

Then comes our dedication to sustainability. Our unique formula is composed of 99% to 100% natural origin ingredients, and is biodegradable at 96%, guaranteeing a greener option for our customers.

But we do not stop there – we go the extra mile by collecting and reusing empty packaging from all online sales, minimizing waste and promoting a circular economy. We also take pride in our pioneering spirit. By using innovative 100% plant-based packaging for all retail sales, we are not just offering eco-friendly detergents, but also sustainable packaging solutions.

Why did you decide to join the Founders Club?

We joined the Founders Club as we believe it is a great opportunity to increase the chances of entrepreneurial success. The Founders Club provides access to a supportive community of like-minded entrepreneurs, fostering networking and collaboration. We believe this can accelerate personal and business growth, enhance our skills and provide us with valuable insights.

What’s next?

At Wasch, we are excited about the road ahead and have ambitious plans for the future. Our next steps involve two primary initiatives.

First, we are dedicated to continuous innovation and product development. We are actively working on creating new, eco-friendly products to expand our portfolio.

Secondly, we are looking beyond borders and focusing on international expansion as we aim to introduce our products to a global audience. We are poised to make a broader and even more positive impact on both the environment and people’s lives.

We are also looking to raise funds to support these strategic steps.
