The West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) is embracing the digital era with a groundbreaking collaboration. GIM-UEMOA, in charge of the region’s interbank payment system, has teamed up with key players from Luxembourg to create GIMpay, a cutting-edge digital infrastructure.

The partnership includes Suricate Solutions, a top cybersecurity firm; LuxTrust, specializing in secure digital identities; LuxHub, a leader in Open Banking; and i-Hub, providing e-KYC services. Together, they aim to build a secure and inclusive ecosystem to support digital services in the UEMOA zone.

GIM-UEMOA‘s CEO, Minayegnan Coulibaly, believes GIMpay will enhance customer experience and drive innovation for banks, fintechs, and public treasuries.

The collaboration focuses on secure digital identity solutions, improved financial inclusion through Open Banking, and robust cybersecurity to counter cyber threats in the financial sector.

This partnership marks an exciting step toward empowering West Africa’s digital economy and ensuring secure and efficient digital payments for its population.
