After more than 20 years at Luxinnovation, most recently as the director of business development, Jean-Michel Ludwig is scheduled to commence his role at the Council for the Economic Development of Construction (CDEC) starting on November 1st.

As one of the most carbon-intensive industries, it seems about time the CDEC moved toward a more sustainable strategy. To better understand all the issues related to decarbonising the sector, the CDEC is deploying an integrated sectoral strategy which includes the strengthening of its management teams.

To this end, the CDEC has announced that Jean-Michel Ludwig, Luxinnovation’s director of business development will join its team as the deputy managing director. Created in 2008, the CDEC is a non-profit that aims to champion an integrated sector strategy and support its stakeholders towards sustainable competitiveness.

Equipped with a specialized technology diploma and an MBA he completed in 2016, Jean-Michel brings two decades of experience at Luxinnovation to the table, most recently in the management of startups, a field of growing interest to the construction sector.

The Training Institute Sectorial Building (IFSB) also has new management structures with the establishment of a managerial pair composed of Patrick Nemry and Alexis Sikora. They will respectively be responsible for operational training management and development and projects management.

The challenges of decarbonization and circularity will be the defining task of the future for the IFSB and CDEC, both of which will work on reducing the sector’s footprint, implementing more circular construction methods, and deploying more sustainable management practices.
