Luxembourg’s First Finnovation Hack Highlights Generative AI Solutions

Could AI usher in a new era for fintech growth in Luxembourg? Finnovation Hub’s inaugural hackathon hints at the possibility.

Hosted by the University of Luxembourg’s SnT Interdisciplinary Research Center in collaboration with TechSense by The Dots, the inaugural Finnovation Hack aimed to explore innovations at the intersection of finance and generative AI.

“This first Finnovation Hack, organised by the Finnovation Hub, offered a great opportunity for EU students to pitch their ideas and solutions to key influencers of the financial centre community. It also helps to foster the talent that the financial sector will need for its future development.”

With over 120 professionals and students present at d’Coque on December 4, the event was well attended. The panel of judges included Minayegnan Coulibaly, CEO of GIM-UEMOA, and Alex Panican, Deputy CEO at The LHoFT.

Podium for OptiChat, Finmars, and Zero Enter

Of the ten projects pitching their ideas, OptiChat impressed the jury the most with its learning development platform for fintech employees and took home €10,000 in prize money. Finmars and Zero Enter, respectively created an analytics tool and a security solution and completed the podium.

The caliber of ideas presented, and the collaborative spirit displayed by the participants demonstrate the potential for Luxembourg to continue leading in the global financial arena,” said Jean Hilger, head of Finnovation Hub.
