PwC and Microsoft have linked up to launch their GenAI Business Centre in Luxembourg. The focus of this collaboration will be innovation and the application of AI services, such as the recently launched Windows assistant Copilot.

Located at the PwC Experience Centre, the venture will become operational in April 2024. It will receive significant financial backing from both companies as it looks to develop the use of AI in the business scene. Business leaders will be able to engage with experts from PwC and Microsoft at specific sessions. The GenAI Business Centre will also offer demonstrations, workshops, and innovation hackathons. Bringing together people, companies, and experts interested in AI will also foster an exchange of expertise, as the appetite in Luxembourg for those generative tools is growing.

Leveraging AI at work

Microsoft will bring to the table solutions like Azure OpenAI service, Azure AI Studio and Microsoft 365 Copilot. The latter is a chat interface that generates content and allows the user to search for specific information. Using ChatGPT technology and information it already knows about the user, this tool has been packaged as an assistant. The purpose of Copilot and all of Microsoft’s tools, part of the collaboration, is to improve the workflow of employees and adapt to them.

“Aligning with PwC’s insights from business leaders in Luxembourg, we recognise that Generative AI will yield positive economic impacts. As we step into the AI era, we are actively augmenting human creativity by leveraging technology designed to serve as a co-pilot in our daily work lives, fostering productivity and innovation.”

With Expon Capital and LIST teaming up to boost AI R&D and with LetzAI releasing a new version, the sector is developing in Luxembourg. The government is also focusing on AI as a tool to reach its goals of being an advanced digital society and having a data-driven and sustainable economy. Meanwhile, the involvement of big names like PwC and Microsoft validates Luxembourg as a place where new technologies like AI can thrive.
