After 30 hours of competing in the blockchain hackathon, vDL Digital Ventures’ Financial Reporting System took home the first prize, followed by EY Luxembourg and DigiBlock.

Just because AI is the hottest trend of the year doesn’t mean that blockchain is done yet. Indeed, as Infrachain’s fifth edition hackathon shows, there are still more than enough projects that benefit from blockchain technology.

Taking place on November 28 and 29, Infrachain, together with Nomadic Labs, Telindus and Tezos, organised the Infrachain Tezos Challenge Powered by Telindus. This year’s selected teams: Digiblock, EY Luxembourg, LIST (Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology), and vDL Digital Ventures GmbH had 30 hours to brainstorm, plan, code, and design a novel solution based on the Tezos Blockchain to facilitate compliance in Luxembourg’s financial sector.

“Luxembourg places great importance on maintaining standards of financial transparency, integrity, and regulatory compliance. We salute the teams for the tremendous work carried out over these two days as well as the creative presented.”

Louis Chevalier, Adoption Manager Benelux at Nomadic Labs.

vDL Digital Ventures GmbH’s CSSF DLT Financial Reporting System took home the first prize of 5,000€. Their project integrates blockchain technology into regulatory reporting, enhancing security, streamlining authentication, and bolstering transparency.

The two runner-ups, EY and DigiBlock respectively presented a climate and environment risk project and a fund reporting solution.

“Congratulations to the teams for their extraordinary work. The financial sector is presenting numerous opportunities for blockchain technology, and we hope that this hackathon will contribute to making the sector more efficient,” said Tom Kettels, Project Lead of Infrachain.
