10 FinTech Startups Selected For Catapult: Kickstarter Fall Edition

Luxembourg’s FinTech sector is booming and Catapult: Kickstarter Fall Edition 2021 is here for it. The LHoFT Foundation has selected 10 FinTech startups which will participate in the two-week digital program where they will get the opportunity to develop their business and win €50.000 in subsidies. Open to interested parties, the final pitching event will take on 26 November.

Having received 187 applications – 74% than the first edition of Catapult: Kickstarter – it is no overstatement to say that FinTech remains a hot topic in Luxembourg’s ecosystem.

“The 10 selected Fintech firms are all exciting businesses with high relevance to the Luxembourg financial centre, addressing some key challenges and opportunities for local actors. It is great to have such an application boom following on from the first edition of the program,” says Nasir Zubairi, CEO of The LHoFT.

Opening on 15 November, the Fall 2021 digital edition of Catapult: Kickstarter comes packed with exciting candidates, both national and international. During this second edition of the program, the 10 FinTech startups will get a chance to develop their business models with a special focus on scaling and managing risks.

Open To The Public

Developed by the LHoFT Foundation and supported by Luxembourg’s Ministry of the Economy, the program is firmly aligned with Luxembourg’s goals of establishing itself as a leading startup nation in Europe. The increased applications and international interest speak for themselves.

“In line with the aims of the Ministry of the Economy, Catapult: Kickstarter enhances the Luxembourg startup and digital ecosystem by enabling young innovative companies active within data, AI, Fintech and cybersecurity, to partner with the financial services industry,” says Franz Fayot.

The selected startups will get to partake in a wide range of activities, including classroom tutorials, customer discovery, one-on-one meetings with experts, pitching sessions and more. They will also meet multiple partners including Luxembourg For Finance (LFF), Expon Capital, and Middlegame Ventures (MGV).

The final pitching event will take place November 26 and is open to the public. The five winners will be able to access up to 50,000 EUR in subsidies from the Luxembourg Ministry of the Economy, based on the fulfilment of eligibility criteria.
