R3i Ventures will welcome four finalists to its DeepTech and MedTech platforms this spring, offering new funding and growth opportunities for startups.

Out of 60 firms vying for support through the investment fund and incubator platform, R3i Ventures said it had retained Meracle Health, whose solution manages medication in-take, Viewmind, a neurocognitive change detection solution, Israeli cyber security firm Siga OT and digital therapeutic firm for chronic disease prevention Naluri.

R3i has incubation hubs in Singapore, Silicon Valley and Luxembourg, where it works with Luxinnovation, The Ministry of The Economy and other ecosystem players. It launched the House of DeepTech in January 2021 and the House of Med Tech at the end of 2020.

Incubation, acceleration and finance

According to R3i general partner Leesa Soulodre, the goal is to connect visionaries with talent and know-how, through an expert team of entrepreneurs in residence and access to capital for scaling up.

Soulodre says R3i’s role is to fill the “funding gap for our founders in DeepTech/MedTech early-stage investment and safely landing and expanding them into the European Union.”

She adds that the finance offers an alternative for Family Offices and conventional funds to invest in deeptech assets focused on smart city, net-zero and gender lens.

Soloudre reckons the firm’s activities will contribute to the local economy through innovation, job creation, and positive impacts on supply chain and consumption habits.

Soloudre said: “We are now in the process of registration and capital raising for the R3i Capital Fund.” She expects to officially launch the European fund mid-year.
