Tell us about your startup.
Petit BamBou is one of the leading mindfulness meditation apps in Europe, with more than 1.4 million users. We provide guided meditations in French and German (other languages to come). They’re designed by experts and aim to help the widest possible public discover meditation and thus deepen their practice through thematic programs.
How did you come up with the idea?
Petit BamBou was created by Benjamin Blasco and Ludovic Dujardin, who discovered meditation for themselves and felt there was a need for easy, secular and motivating meditations with expert guidance. The idea is to help people discover the practice, create a habit, and have access to accompanyment throughout their meditation journey.
What are your products/services?
Petit BamBou is a complete mobile service with iOS and Android compatibility as well as a web app. The app includes a meditation program with the first 8 exercises free as much as you want, and a catalogue of more than 550 guided meditations covering a range of themes from mindful eating and sports to mindfulness for kids. We also offer online workshops in small groups, facilitated by a meditation instructor, and live Q&A on Facebook with mindfulness experts.
“The next step in our development is the international scene. So far, the app is available is French, and we have just launched a German version. Other languages will follow.”
What is your business model?
The service is based on a Freemium model. The app is free and gives access to 8 exercises free, with no time limitations. Users wishing to go further and deepen their practice can access the complete catalogue through a monthly, bi-annual or yearly subscription.
Who are your clients?
Petit BamBou is used by a very wide range of people! Students, professionals, parents and their kids (we have a specific mindfulness program for children), pensioners… All of them share an interest in taking care of themselves and finding space for reflection in their lives. In the B2B market, we also have a growing pool of companies that provide Petit BamBou to their employees.
The next step in our development is the international scene. So far, the app is available is French, and we have just launched a German version. Other languages will follow. We will also continue to advocate for mindfulness meditation in all these countries and raise awareness around this wonderful practice that could benefit a lot more people.
